Hannah Brooks

Hannah grew up in a house where dinner was always rushed and always tense, and she swore her own kitchen would be the opposite. So she cooks things that take hours on purpose: soups, stews, braises that fill the house with patience. Slow food is her way of proving that home can feel safe.

What you will find here

Simmer Hours is about soups, stews, and braises: the pots that sit on the stove for an afternoon and feed a family for two days.

How recipes get made here

Every pot is cooked at least three times in a standard Dutch oven, timed, and reheated the next day to check it improves. Slow cooker and pressure cooker variants are tested separately when offered.

Some links on the site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what gets recommended.
